This brief was to design an awareness campaign about the dangers of drink spiking, consisting of 3 images which we then had to mock up as if projected onto an appropriate local building at night.
What struck me doing my research was that so many of the statistics about drink spiking went against the stereotypes. This image shows that men are in as much danger of being victims as women, because robbery is a bigger motivation for the crime than rape.
As the target audience were people on their way to a night's drinking, I wanted the images as bold and in your face as possible. Subtlety is not the way to get this message across! I did replace some of the words with a bubble effect though, to add a little texture to the design. Any brands alluded to by the design are not meant as an endorsement by that brand.
Having created the design in Illustrator, I superimposed it onto a photo I took one evening of our local Civic Centre. I chose this location because it is near to several of the town's bars and restaurants and would therefore be passed by a large number of drinkers. I reduced the opacity of the image to give the effect of it being projected onto the wall.
This proved to be the college project I was most proud of, because I enjoyed having the chance to communicate an important safety message which many people may not be aware about. I chose this campaign to represent myself in our end-of-course exhibition.
With thanks to the Roofie Foundation for the statistics. In order to spread the message, I have no objection to this image being downloaded and used for non-profit-making awareness purposes. Please credit me for my artwork and link back to my page, thank you.

I hope nobody every spikes my drink! Unless it's with more booze in which case I'd be ok with it.
Great design... It really drives the point home.
